Bobae Market or Talat Bobae

Bobae Market Variety' is the name, when it comes to shopping in Thailand. Visitors who want to make bulk purchases head to the Bobae Market. Located on Krung Kasem Road, east of Banglampoo, in Central Bangkok, it is a well-known wholesale market of the city. Operating for more than 30 years, it is very popular among the locals, tourist  as well as wholesalers and Importers, for its inexpensive range of garments and clothing. Most clothes here are sold by dozen and sometimes, even more. Bobae market is a one stop paradise for the budding exporter as well as wholesalers.  If you have time or you are especially interested in the area of clothing export.

Therefore, people who are looking forward to buying loads of good quality clothes, at amazingly low prices, should take a trip to Bobae. However, make sure to haggle for the price, or else the vendor might just take you for a good ride. Besides, people who are not up for wholesale shopping, but would like to buy similar products in smaller numbers, can also visit the Bobae Tower, located near the market. There are more than 700 shops in the tower that is a heaven for Thai merchants, exporters and tourists.

Rose Gardens - Thai Culture Show
One of the major tourist attractions that can be done as a day trip from Bangkok, is the Rose Garden Riverside in Nakhon Pathom Province. Located along the Tachin River, the 70 acre resort is only an hour’s drive from Bangkok. But don’t be fooled by the name. It is not just a botanical garden. Although it started as a Rose Garden and restaurant over 40 years ago, over the years it has evolved and developed into a cultural center, together with a hotel, restaurants and a spa. Today, foreign tourists mainly go to the Rose Garden to watch the internationally acclaimed Thai Village Cultural Show as part of a day long tour that includes a visit to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. We went there a couple days ago and had a really enjoyable time.

Vimanmek Mansion
Upon his return from Europe in 1897, King Rama V (1868-1910) used his personal money to purchase orchards and paddy fields between Padung Krungkasem Canal and Samsen Canal for the construction of a royal garden which he named "the Dusit Garden".

The magnificent Vimanmek mansion, which is the largest Golden teakwood mansion, was built by king Chulalongkorn (King Rama 5) as a Royal residence.
Jim Thompson's House
Jim Thompson or James Harrison Wilson Thompson was born in Greenville, Delaware in 1906. He attended public schools in Wilmington, went on to boarding school at St. Paul's and attended Princeton University, the family university, from 1924 to 1928.

The Jim Thompson House is the home of James H.W. Thompson, a self-made American entrepreneur who was the founder of the world renowned Jim Thompson Thai Silk Company. Thompson's achievements during his 25 year stay in the Kingdom of Thailand have won him much fame as the "Legendary American of Thailand.

The Jim Thompson House is located on Soi Kasemsan (2) Song, opposite the National Stadium on Rama I Rd.
